How many kegels a day is too many? Worried about overtraining

I read that a tense pelvic floor is worse than a weak one and now I'm scared of overdoing it. I do 100-150 reps a day. Is that too much?

Good instinct to ask, because yes, that is on the high side and overtraining is a real risk. The pelvic floor is a small muscle group. Hundreds of reps a day create chronic tension, and a tense floor lowers your ejaculatory threshold, the opposite of what you want. A safer range: 30-60 quality contractions per day, split into short sets, always with full relaxation between reps. Relaxation is half the exercise, not the pause between the real work. Add variety instead of volume: - Long holds (5s) for endurance. - Quick flicks for reflex speed. - Reverse kegels to teach relaxation. Watch for warning signs: pelvic pain, urinary urgency, a constant feeling of tightness. If they appear, rest 2-3 days and reduce the load. Educational note: if symptoms persist, see a pelvic floor physiotherapist.

Okay, cutting it way down. No wonder I felt tense all the time.
